Brooke & Garrett

Brooke and Garrett were married on April 2, 2022 in Ruston, Louisiana. Their ceremony took place at Temple Baptist Church, and they held their outdoor reception at White Oak Venue.

Here are our top takeaways:

  1. I know it’s not super common to have your ceremony and reception at two different places, but this one was AWESOME. The footage of their getaway car (a cherry red ‘60s Ford Thunderbird!) in the daylight was breathtaking, and their bubble exit was really special. Don’t get me wrong - sparkler exits rock, but they’re much harder to capture. I think our favorite shot from the whole film was of Brooke and Garrett being surrounded by bubbles.

  2. Light! Up! Your! Reception! Brooke and Garrett’s outdoor reception had lots of gorgeous string lights, but they also had tons of colored lights and glow sticks. Not only did it totally set the mood, but it captured really well on the camera. No one likes to dance in bright overhead lights, but the colors and string lights were just enough to keep the energy high and the cameras in focus.

  3. Don’t pass up on the opportunity to have a live band! There are some great DJs… and some not-so-great DJs… There are also some great bands… and some not-so-great bands. Always talk to your musicians and DJs, and always read reviews. Better yet - see if you can find RECENT written reviews and videos of their work. Make sure they match your style and your vibe. For Brooke and Garrett, Caravan rocked the house!
